Lungs – how to strengthen them?

Fizjoterapia Kędzierzyn-Koźle promotes awareness of improving lung capacity. Lung capacity is the ability of the lungs to deliver oxygen to the body and remove carbon dioxide. It can be increased through regular exercise, both aerobic and breathing exercises.

Aerobic exercises such as running, swimming, cycling, or skiing increase lung volume, which is the amount of air you can inhale in one breath. This happens because these activities stimulate the respiratory muscles and increase the number of blood vessels in the lungs.

Breathing exercises such as deep breathing, yoga, or tai chi can also help improve lung capacity. These exercises enhance coordination of the respiratory muscles and increase their elasticity.

Additional recommendations

  • Ensure adequate sleep, as sleep is essential for body regeneration, including respiratory muscles.
